Surveys let your organization collect structured feedback from employees — things like engagement pulse checks, onboarding feedback, exit surveys, or one-off polls. A survey is a set of questions that gets sent out on a schedule, and the people it's sent to (participants) fill it out and submit their answers. Depending on your access level, you may only take surveys that are sent to you, or you may also be able to build, schedule, and review results for surveys across your organization.
What is survey made of?
Questions — the content of the survey.
Schedule — when and how often the survey goes out.
Participants — who receives the survey. This can be everyone in the organization, specific departments, teams, locations, or individual people, and can also include external participants who don't have access to Paychex Flex Engage
Settings — controls like whether responses are anonymous, how many responses are required before results become visible, and reminder frequency.
Survey Status
A survey moves through a few states as it's worked on and used:
Draft — being built, not yet sent to anyone.
Active / Published — live and currently collecting responses (or scheduled to in the future).
Completed — the survey's collection window has ended.
You can find your organization's surveys grouped this way under the Manage Surveys screen: Active, Completed, Drafts, and Templates tabs.
Who can do what?
Anyone the survey is sent to can open it from their Surveys list and answer it.
Users with manage access can build, schedule, publish, and review results for surveys across the organization.
