Accessing the Feature
Navigate to Access Management β Devices
Click the Import Devices button
Note:
This action is available to Admins only.
Import Configuration
Before uploading a file, administrators must define the import context.
Device Type Selection
Select a Device Type from the dropdown (e.g., Laptops, Smartphones, Printers)
All devices in the uploaded file will be associated with this selected device type
Note:
Device type selection is mandatory and ensures that imported data aligns with the correct field structure.
Upload File
Click Upload File to select a CSV file
The file must follow the supported template format
Download Template (Recommended)
Admins can download a sample CSV template
The template includes:
Required fields
Custom fields based on the selected device type
This helps ensure proper formatting and reduces validation errors.
Validation Rules
Once the file is uploaded, the system performs validation checks:
Field Validation
All required fields must be populated
Data must match expected formats (e.g., text, date, picklist values)
Duplicate Check
Duplicate Device IDs are flagged
Prevents creation of conflicting or redundant records
Device Type Compatibility
Uploaded data must match the field structure of the selected device type
Invalid or mismatched fields will trigger errors
Import Results
After processing, the system displays a summary of the import:
Success Count β Number of devices successfully imported
Failure Count β Number of records that failed validation
Error Details
Row-level error feedback is provided for failed records
Includes:
Row number
Field causing the error
Description of the issue
This allows admins to quickly identify and correct issues before re-uploading.
