May 2026 Release

Check out everything pushed out to Paychex Flex® Engage

This month we added brand new features to better engage your workforce.

Performance Management

Non Managers Can Create Goals When Completing a Review

If a secondary manager is added or the review is delegated to someone else, the non manager is now able to also create goals for the reviewed employee.

Edit Future Intro Emails for Onboard/Anniversary Reviews

If you change your mind how you'd like to announce your review process you can now make changes for future review participants for your onboard/anniversary reviews

Hide Manager Reviews from Employee View

Some users have reported wanting more visibility permissions on their manager review process. That is why we have now added an option to hide manager feedback from the employees list of shared results. This will be similar to how contributor or upward feedback can be hidden from the reviewed employee.

Aggregate Review Result Export Improved

The Aggregate Review Results are now easier to read and understand when exported. This new export makes it easier to run custom reports from the csv export.

Pre-populated Questions and Templates

New accounts will now have multiple questions and templates pre-populated in their account when they get started. This makes the onboarding process easier and gives people a place to start.

View Participant Groups for Anniversary and Onboarding Reviews

When looking in your cycle settings, you will now see the departments, positions, locations, etc. that were used to create your groups of participants.

Forms:

New Forms Page on Left Hand Menu

Forms are now more front and center and easier to see when actions are required. There is now a menu option on the left hand side of the screen to view all outstanding actions relating to forms. You will now see the number of forms that are available to approve or forms that have been requested that you complete.

Admins and Managers can now Request Forms be Completed

We have heard from many people how they would like the ability to request employees to fill out a form on an employee rather than waiting for them to do it themselves. We now have added the option for admins to be able to have anyone from the organization fill out a form on any other employee regardless of who they report to or their position in the org chart. This is now also available for managers to request others to complete a review for their own direct reports.

Private Questions

When creating a form, you will now have an option to mark a question as private. What this means is that when someone is filling out a for, they will see it shaded with a private icon. After submitting it, the subject of the form will not be able to see that that question was even included on the form and will not be able to see the response to that question.

conditional questions

Other Option in Multiple Choice Questions

When creating a form, you will now have the option when creating a multiple choice question to have an option as "Other". If an employee selects that as an option they will be able to enter in a short response other than the options given with the other options you provide them.

Conditional Questions

We’ve enhanced the Forms module with support for Conditional Questions and Rule-Based Form Logic. Admins can now configure rules directly on questions to show downstream questions only when specific responses are selected or automatically end the form flow based on defined conditions. Conditional visibility supports question types such as single select, multi-select, dropdowns, star, and rating scales, allowing forms to adapt in real time as users respond. Questions without rules continue to display by default, while conditionally controlled questions remain hidden until triggered. Hidden questions are excluded from validation and can be automatically reset when conditions change, ensuring cleaner submissions and more relevant form experiences for respondents.

Access Management

Device Export

From the device page, you are now able to export all of your devices together as a single export. Each device type will be on a separate worksheet in your excel export.

Auto Renewal Email Notifications

When a system is set up for auto renewal, you will now have the option to enroll in email reminders with a given period of time before the system is set to auto renew. this gives you an opportunity to be notified in advance of each system you have entered renewing to decide if you would like to keep it or cancel.

Rewards

Gift Card Approval Notifications

Rewards Admins will now receive an email notification when they need to approve a gift card redemption. If you have gift cards set to not require email notifications they will not be generated.

Additional Catalog Items

More gift card options have been added in may with an additional 25 slated to be added in June this year. We will keep you posted as more get added!

Resend Reward Email

If users cannot find the email with the reward redemption link inside of it when they initially redeem it, they can now resend the email directly from their rewards profile by looking for their reward and hitting resend.

Org Chart

Compensation Details in Position Org Chart

As a compensation admin, you will now be able to see each employees compa ratio when looking at a certain position in the position org chart. This is helpful when looking at the ranges of pay by a single position.

Custom Org Chart

You are now able to build out any custom org chart you would like on the side without everyone being able to see it. Administrators can now plan for certain teams, do workforce planning, or even save for potential future changes.

Report Builder

Survey Data in Report Builder

Survey question responses can now be included as a data element in the report builder. This is helpful to be able to see how certain employees respond against certain questions or even compare against review performance.

Mobile App

Rewards

Rewards is now available to take advantage of from within the Paychex Flex Engage Mobile app.

General

Onboarding Lists

Administrators and Users now see in the top right of the page a checklist of onboarding tasks to complete when there are new features or product available. Existing users will see them checked off to start but you can always click in and view. Administrator tasks are shared across all users who have permission to do the listed tasks. Employees will see the tasks as they join the system.

Coming Soon

Certification Tracker

Coming soon, a new Certification Tracker module within Access Management to help administrators centrally manage employee certifications with capabilities similar to Device Management. The module enables creation, assignment, and lifecycle tracking of certifications, including status monitoring, renewal date tracking, and automated notifications for upcoming or overdue expirations. Administrators can configure certification-specific metadata using flexible custom fields, upload supporting documents, and generate reports for compliance and audit purposes. Role-based permissions ensure controlled access, while dashboard views provide visibility into certification status, renewals, and overall workforce compliance.

Succession Planning

Coming soon to the Succession Planning which enables Admins/Managers to review employee nominations directly from the position list view, evaluate candidates based on roles, skills, competencies, and career alignment, and approve or reject nominations with full audit tracking. Managers can also create, update, and manage development plans for nominated employees to address skill gaps and support career growth through structured goals, tasks, and competency development. Additionally, Smart Match recommendations have been introduced to surface high-potential candidates based on skills, competencies, role alignment, and career aspirations, with explainable scoring and gap insights to support informed succession decisions.

Channel View-Only Access Introduced for Messaging Users

Coming soon, a new Channel View-Only privilege in Messaging that gives users read-only access to public and private channels while restricting their ability to send direct messages or start new group conversations. Users assigned this base privilege can continue viewing channel content but will be blocked from initiating new conversations or participating in existing DMs and group threads that require higher permissions.

Performance Review Submission in Mobile App

Coming soon to the mobile app is the ability for users to complete and submit performance reviews directly from their mobile devices. Initial support will include review submission capabilities for all major review process types, including Self Reviews, Manager Reviews, Contributor Reviews, and Upward Reviews. This enhancement allows employees and managers to participate in review cycles more conveniently while maintaining the same review workflows and submission experience available on desktop.

Date Questions in Surveys

Coming soon to the Surveys module is support for Date-type questions, allowing survey creators to collect date-based responses using an interactive calendar picker experience. Similar to the existing functionality available in Forms, respondents will be able to select dates directly from a calendar instead of manually entering text, helping reduce formatting errors and improve response accuracy. Survey creators will also be able to apply standard validations such as required responses, while all date values will be stored in a standardized backend format for improved reporting and consistency.
