Career Development (Employee View – My Profile)

The Career Development section in My Profile allows employees to track their professional growth within the organization. It provides visibility into career progression, competency expectations, and feedback related to development.

Employees can view their current career path, compare roles, assess competencies, and review development notes or feedback from managers.

To access Career Development:

  1. Navigate to My Profile.

  2. Click the Career Development tab.

This page displays the employee’s career track and related development tools.

Note: This is only populated if the employee's position is linked to a job level which is a part of career track with competencies

Career Path Overview

At the top of the page, employees can view their career progression path within their job family.

The career path displays a visual timeline of roles within the track, such as:

  • Coordinator

  • Specialist

  • Senior Specialist

  • Lead

  • Principal

Key Indicators

You Are Here
Highlights the employee’s current role in the career track.

Target Role
Shows the future role the employee is working toward.

This visual representation helps employees understand potential career progression within the organization.

Comparison Tool

The Comparison Tool helps employees understand the difference between their current role and a potential future role.

The tool displays information about roles such as:

  • Responsibilities

  • Skills required

  • Expectations at the role level

  • Employees can use this tool to better understand the competencies needed to progress in their career track.

  • They can click on change against Target Role to modify the target role.

  • An Explore Other Tracks option allows employees to review additional career paths within the organization.

  • Suggested Next Steps is an AI generated tool tip/resource guide which acts as an initial step towards the target.

Competency Assessment

The Competency Assessment section provides insight into how the employee’s skills compare with expected competency levels.

The section includes:

Your Score
Displays the employee’s self-assessment score for competencies related to their role.

Manager Score
Shows the manager’s evaluation of the employee’s competencies derived from a competency review

This comparison helps identify areas for improvement and development.


Employees may also have the option to submit or update competency scores using Submit Competency Score. Which can be submitted unlimited number of times within any frequency of time.

Previous score is stored and will be updated every time with a new submission.

All submissions can be tracked with the history view.

1:1 Call History

The 1:1 Call History section records past development discussions between the employee and their manager. This integrated in-product feature - One on One.

Each entry typically includes:

  • One on One meeting title, hyperlinked to the detail view

  • Meeting Attendee's name

  • Date and time

  • One on One meeting status

This history helps employees keep track of previous conversations and prepare for future performance discussions.

Notes & Feedback

The Notes & Feedback section allows employees to store personal reflections and review feedback related to their development.

Two tabs are available:

Notes
Employees can create private notes to track:

  • Career ideas

  • Personal development goals

  • Self-reflections

Employees can create new notes using Write a Note.


Notes can be edited or deleted.


Feedback
Displays feedback shared by managers.
