This section explains how users can access their performance reviews, view items pending action, and perform tasks such as submitting or approving reviews.
Navigating to the Performance Review Section
Login to Paychex Flex and navigate to the left-hand navigation menu.
From the main navigation pane, scroll down and click Performance Reviews
Dashboard > Performance Reviews
Viewing Available Review Cycles
The main Performance Review dashboard displays all the available review cycles the user is associated with. Each review cycle card includes:
Review Title: The name of the cycle (e.g., "vtest 2024", "2025 Annual Review").
Review Start Date and Review End Date: Displayed directly below the title.
Actionable Items Count: A line below the date range, e.g., “6 items for this review”.
Search Functionality
At the top of the page is a Search Bar labeled "Type keywords..." which allows users to quickly filter and find a specific review cycle by typing part of the review title.
Expanding a Review Cycle
To access more details about a particular review cycle:
Locate the desired review cycle in the list.
Click on the dropdown arrow on the right-hand side of the review title card.
This expands the panel to show all the actionable components associated with that review cycle.
The expanded view includes sections like:
Nomination
Do Nomination: Allows users to submit peer (contributor) nominations for their own review.
Approve: Enables managers to review and approve nominations for their direct reports.
Self Review
Do Review: Opens the self-review form.
Displays review status and due date.
Reviews To Do
Lists reviews (Manager Review) the user is responsible for, including names, due dates, and review status.
Do Review button initiates each review task.
Reviews To Approve

Displays reviews (Self Review) that require validation before completion.
My Team Reviews
If the user is a manager, the My Team Reviews section appears in the expanded cycle view.
This panel provides a consolidated view of the manager’s direct reports and their review progress across various review steps:
Employee Name: Name and avatar of the direct report.
Self Review: Displays the current status (e.g., Not Started). Clicking this does not initiate the review but informs the manager of the employee’s progress.
Contributor Review: Shows a clickable progress link (e.g., 0/3), indicating how many peer reviews have been submitted out of the expected total.
Manager Review: Shows the status of the manager’s own review of the employee. Clicking Not Started or similar status opens the review form.
Sharing: Indicates when the review will be shared with the employee (opens date). If not yet scheduled, this will display “--”.
Notes:
All review tasks include due dates for reference.
Clicking progress indicators or action buttons will route users to the associated review page or review builder interface.
