Surveys
Onboarding Surveys
Survey admins now have the ability to create onboarding survey schedules. While creating a survey this is the newest option that allows admins to enter a number of days after being hired that the survey should be sent out, for example 30. After that predetermined amount of time the survey will be sent to users automatically for them to fill out. This is a great addition to get an idea on how new employees feel about their onboarding experience.
Employee Messaging
Employee messaging is the newest product suite in the Paychex Flex® Engage product and will continually be added to over the next few months. All types of messaging will include the following features:
Read Receipts
employees will be able to see when other employees they are messaging have seen their message they sent
Timestamp
All messages are timestamped to show exactly when the messages were sent and are localized to each employees timezone
Reactions
Any employee can react to a message sent and the other members in the chat will be able to see it
Typing Indicators
As one employee begins typing, it will show that to the other employees in the chat
Pin Conversations
Each employee can pin their most important messages to get back to them easily
The following types of conversations are supported in Paychex Flex® Engage:
Direct Messages
Users are able to create direct messages between peers that let them message directly with another employee.
Group Direct Messages
These group direct messages exist to speak with the members that are inside of it and are private to the users inside of that conversation. Each employee has the ability to add members to the group, however when this is done, it will create a brand new group conversation with the new user inside of it. The existing messages will not be shared with the new participant.
Private Channels
Private channels are group conversations that employee exist in by invitation only. When new employees are added to these channels, they will get access to the previous message history. These are best used for long standing messages that people are looking to keep visible to new employees.
Public Channels
Public channels are visible for any employee to be able to join by searching through the public channel list and selecting the join button. You can tell the difference between a private and public channel by the lock indicator that shows a channel is private.
Message Retention
Messages are visible from the UI for a period up to 6 months from the time the message was sent. All messages however are kept forever in the event it needs to be reviewed, for those messages you can reach out to your Service Representative.
Forms
Forms is the latest addition to the comprehensive performance suite offered by Paychex Flex® Engage. This newest option gives admins the ability to have flexibility where they give managers the option to lead certain performance documentation. The process begins by an Admin creating a form and publishing it to either managers or employees. Depending on who has access it is then available to fill out.
Approval Flow
Each form contains an approval flow similar to reviews that will require the manager and/or admins to approve each submission before it becomes visible to the employee who is the subject of the form. If you select Manager and Admin, the manager will be asked first but if they decide to not approve it, the Admin can always approve it and it will skip the manager step.

We are currently working on the following new features and are excited to make them available to you in an upcoming release!
Messaging Notifications
We are working to add a full notification preference suite. This will allow each user to decide their own methods to communicate anywhere from SMS to email around messages. We are also working to add this functionality to mobile that will support push notification updates.
Employee facing Career Paths
Currently the career paths are visible to only admins however we are looking to add those paths to be visible to employees to give them a better visual on the steps they are taking in their career progression.
Hourly Pay Updates
Currently, hourly employees are shown as the annual pay amount when giving raises which has led to confusion on how much of a raise employees are really getting. We are updating this to show hourly employees as the actual hourly rate rather than the annualized amount. the amount in a manager/admins budget will still show the annual amount.
AI Profile Generator
Employees will soon have the ability to upload their resume and we will directly fill out their whole employee profile based on the information in their resume. This will eliminate the need to manually fill out information that is generally kept in a single document that many employees have readily available at the time they are onboarding.
